The 14th NORDEFCO ADL Conference, held at the Odense Congress Center in Denmark from April 20th to 23rd 2026, has now been successfully completed. Once again, the conference proved to be a strong platform for collaboration, bringing together colleagues, partners, and experts from across the Nordic countries and beyond.

With just over 200 registered participants, this year’s conference reached a record-high attendance, highlighting the growing interest and importance of advanced distributed learning within the defence community.

The event gathered a wide range of participants who contributed to a dynamic and engaging atmosphere, supported by an extensive program of keynote speeches, plenary sessions, workshops, and parallel tracks. The conference was officially opened by Major General Flemming Mathiasen from the Royal Danish Defence College, setting the stage for several days of insightful discussions and knowledge sharing.

This year’s conference focused on key topics within advanced distributed learning and defence education, including:

* Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies
* Immersive simulations and VR-based training
* Blended learning in military education
* Learning design and competency development
* Interoperability and digital learning ecosystems
* Leadership and organizational transformation in learning

Participants were given the opportunity to explore these themes through a combination of plenary sessions and parallel tracks, covering both strategic perspectives and practical applications. Highlights included discussions on AI-driven learning environments, user-generated simulations, and the role of leadership in successful implementation of educational technologies.

In addition to the formal sessions, the conference offered excellent networking opportunities, including exhibition areas where participants could engage with new technologies and solutions. Social events such as the informal and formal dinners further strengthened collaboration and dialogue across nations and organizations.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and organizers who contributed to making this year’s conference a success. A special thanks goes to our keynote speakers and contributors for sharing their expertise and insights.

We look forward to welcoming you again at next year’s conference in Gol, Norway April 27th - 29th 2027.
